Gary Glasberg, the executive producer and showrunner of “NCIS” and maker of “NCIS: New Orleans” died in his sleep Tuesday.
Glasberg, 50, turned into a co-executive producer and writer for “NCIS” in 2009 and made the spinoff in 2014.
“Gary was our rock, our cheerleader, our team captain,” the “NCIS” cast and crew said in a statement. “He inspired us with his leadership, his creative instincts and keen insight. NCIS will not be the same without him, and each of us will miss his smiling face and unwavering humor, which lifted us every day.”
A New York native, Glasberg left behind spouse Mimi Schmir and two children, Dash and Eli.
